So I have found two litters of bunnies that I like, one is a Flemish Giant/French Lop mix and the other is a Flemish Giant/New Zealand mix.  I plan on getting a buck and I really like the big/giant rabbits.  This bunny will be an inside pet.  Now, I have never owned a bunny before and I want a big sweet bunny boy, calm and gentle and smart, which mix do you thing is a good one for a beginner?  I know that each rabbit has its own personallity, but in general, which is best?  Thanks!!

Honestly, it doesn’t really matter the breed. Each bun is different, you can’t really rely on breed info to decide, other than you want a big one of course You’ll just have to meet the bunnies and decide then

The conventional wisdom is that larger breeds tend to be calmer, and smaller ones can be more energetic and skittish. Kind of like dogs, I suppose. But of course, just like dogs, there are always exceptions…beyond size though, I honestly don’t think there’s going to be a general difference between the two different mixes. Just pick one you like! And please do post some pictures when you do…we love pictures around here, especially pictures of thoese big gorgeous bunnies!

hehehe, go with the flemmie/new zealand. i have one (even though i keep getting him confused with a calafornia mix….he isnt) and he is wonderful. i know you cant base your decesion on that but i love him!!! he is sooo people friendly and loves to be picked up and carried like a baby and fussed over and he is awsome! that is my 2 cents. lol
