As some of you may know, I am really into dog agility. So I thought I would share some funny dog agility videos I found with you. These videos feature all the things that can go terribly wrong in agility to the best of the best handlers. And to remind us that everyone has their bad days. And it makes a novice like me feel good about myself and my crazy a$$ dog.

I really like this second video because the first 50 seconds of it pretty much sums up my average day working my dog on course. Except substitute the dog walk for the teeter at 30 seconds. Yes I had a collission with a teeter.

And just so it makes sense to some. In agility there is a little cone or sign with a number next to each obsticle, and you do them in that order. On jumps the dog needs to go over it on the side the number is facing. So that is why some of the dogs doing to right jumb are still messing up is because they went over the wrong side. Hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

The dogs always do. My dog loves making me look like an idiot out there. Once I get some competition videos of us I will have to post them.

I would love to, my dog is super fast and a beautiful jumper. However he is not very ball motivated. He would just do all the jumps. Then probably run to the competing teams side and do all of their jumps too.

WOW That second link-the course looks VERY hard and …even some of the owners/handlers seemed a bit confused…like at times I would have done exactly what the dog did, because they didn’t seem clear

What kind of dog do you have? Are you at the competing stage yet? How long have you been doing it?

Yikes-we tried flyball and I think Mikey would love it (perhaps we should just make a course in our yard…)-the noise the ball releaser made was too loud and it scared him. That plus the yelling of the other people and barkind dogs…Mikey’s too sensitive for organized sports.
I really wanted to try tracking with him but the trainer never got back to me, and there is only one that I can find here who teaches ‘for fun’ but is qualified. I’d love to try freestyle, but I have no idea how to get started

I have a super energetic boxer/lab named Zeke. We have been doing agility for about 2 years this fall. It takes a lot of training, especially for your first dog. He is going to start doing competitions in the spring, since this years competition season is pretty much over. We have done some small stuff and fun matches though.

You can teach some fun tracking on your own. It really isn’t that hard if you are just trying to teach your dog to go find something. So long as your dog is scent driven. My dog is more sight and chase motivated, so agility is perfect for us.
