Griffin is very “puppy like” and is outgoing and friendly- so I knew he would not be scared to meet my friends new puppy that she brought over so I could trim his nails.
Griffin was very curious and wanted to play- he was doing short runs and binkies- but I did not catch those on camera- darn!! He liked the puppy unless the puppy “play pawed” at his nose- then he would turn away from the puppy. Griffin is about 9.5 lbs- so you can see how small the puppy (yorkie/chihuahua mix) must be. I would not have tried this with a larger more rambunctious puppy or Cotton or Schroeder who would not have been interested in the puppy.
Oliver (the puppy) stayed close to his Mom for protection at first.
Griffin is shedding- so you can see the difference in his fur- he is a blue fawn. He sheds from front to back- where Cotton sheds from top to bottom. My cat is only about 9 lbs- and she looks like a giant compared to Oliver.

They’re so cute! And Griffin is a big boy! lol
wooooooooooow about time we had some Griffin pics!!!!!! I just love him!!!
The pics of them touching noses are so cute! It’s a wonder the puppy didn’t find your bunny’s ears to be irresistible. It’s amazing how long they are. (They look like they’d be very soft, too.)
One thing I’ve always wondered about English Lops is – do his ears get in his way?
adorable! rue’s breeder has elops, too, and i thought about getting one. i LOVE the ginormous ears, but they’re a little intimidating. i love everything i’ve read about the elop personality.
Wahoo, another “big lop” boy! Zeus was feeling left out.
.
English Lops are adoreable.
His ears are soft, not thickly covered with hair like a Mini Lop- and they are really warm. Both me and my husband have been cuddling him or had him on our laps and been convinced he peed on us- and it was the heat from his ears!!! When he cuddles with me- I rub his the back of his ears all over my face as it is so soft and warm- he probably thinks I am “grooming him”. But he loves gentle ear rubs like that.
I read that their ears were developed as a “radiator” to cool their bodies in high temps- so he has a lot of bloodflow thru the ears and that generates heat. We drew his preanesthetic bloodwork from the biggest vein in his ear (when he was awake)- with him it was easy.
I will have to get some more pics to show his head- his head is very long and narrow- very contrasting to my Mini Lops. And his tail is at least 4 inches long- it looks so weird.
English Lop binkies must be huge.

English Lop binkies must be huge.
And imagine those flapping ears! ![]()
OH MY GOSH! He is huge!!! I bet you hear that a lot.
Very handsome bun!
He’s soooo gorgeous!!! He looks like he’s saying “What….What is that???”
We need more pics of this guy, for sure!
I found my camera that I take trail riding and found out that I had pictures from last year- including some of Griff and Schroeder newly bonded- thus the “poo wars” and humping.

To see such a small bunny hump a larger bunny… xD Wait, Schroeder is the dominat one?!
He’s so pretty – I swear every time I see photo’s of him I think of Jarjar Binks from Star Wars.
I love that big bunny (and your other one’s a twin for my Pringles)
Schroeder is the dominant one! Griff ingnores when Schroeder when he humps him- so it is so funny to see a big bunny not even acknowledge that he has a 5.5lb bunny “attached” to him. And the past couple of weeks the humping has increased like crazy- maybe spring is in the air?
Griffin has such a long nose- the only thing he has in common with a compact Mini Lop is the lop ears. He is long and lean like a greyhound. Today Schroeder was grooming his own back foot and Griff tried to sneak his nose in there to get his nose groomed- it was sad and cute and the same time. They are really good buddies but Schroeder does not groom Griff much.
In the above pics- you can probably see that I still had the divider in their pen. They lived along side each other for months and Griff spent so much time with his nose between the bars trying to get Schroeder to groom him. I would never recommend this- but I had delayed bonding them due to my back issues- and they “bonded” themselves pretty much. We moves their pen completely to clean and let them out together- and they got along- so I snipped the zip ties holding the divider in place so they could be together- and it was a done deal and they have been together ever since. I left the divider in- but open for a week in case I had to separate them. But it was not all grooms and love humps- Griff does have a scar on his ear from our first bonding attempts with Schroeder. But a split pen and plenty of time allowed their pretty laid back attitudes allowed them to bond with time. I don’t think I will ever get Cotton into their group- she is a true Diva and I am not sure I want my boys bossed by her 24/7 anyway. Once when Griff was out- he jumped into her pen and she immediately jumped him. I had to quick open her pen to let him out- I hope he learned never to do that again. Griff can get out of his 4 foot xpen if I don’t have a sheet clipped all the way around the top.
And he does not really have red eyes- but the camera gives him red eye. I think his blue fawn coloring leads to that as I don’t have that with pics of Schroeder or Cotton.
I just thought- maybe that is why he sheds from neck to tail- Schroeder starts his shedding process by all the “bunny love”. Poor Griffy. : )
Wow! He is so big! I love his ears too!
I swear every time I see photo’s of him I think of Jarjar Binks from Star Wars.
That’s who he reminds me of!!! But a cuter, much less annoying version. ![]()
oh my goodness hes a big bunny
D
cute puppy too!
Funnily, it’s the picture with Schroeder that really demonstrated Griffens size to me. Wow!
Love the pic of Schroeder humping Grif! LOL Griffin looks like such a trooper
