I’ve had Coal for 3 years, and will be turning 3 in Feb and ever since I got him he’s been a very happy and healthy bun. But, for the past three weeks he’s been pooping EXTREMELY soft poops. It’s almost as if he doesn’t know he’s doing them. It’s very irritating because he steps in it and smudges it all over his cage and gets himself dirty. It’s hard for me to play with him because sometimes he poops as he’s out of hs cage and makes a mess. He still does regular hard poop in his litter box, it just seems ike this soft poop he isn’t even aware he’s doing and does it all over his cage, and on his little hut. Overall, his behavior has not changed whatsoever. He’s still happy, he drinks, eats regularly, poops regularly. Theres been no change in his diet at all.. I can’t figure out what the problem is. This came out of no where literally.

Before anyone comments, I wanted to wait it out and see how he does because this happened in the past for 1-2 days but this has gone on for a few weeks now and I’m getting concerned. I wanted some opinion before I bring him to a vet or anything.

        Thanks guys!

If his diet hasn’t changed, there is most likely an underlying issue causing the problem. Since we can’t diagnose your bunny, I strongly suggest a vet visit. My lop bunny will get smooshy poops like that when his molars are too long and they need to be trimmed. Or it could possible be a GI issue.

Hope you can get him to a vet soon and that you can get the situation cleared up.
