I just got home from being out with friends. I went to check up on ChaCha and give her a goodnight kiss and pet… and I heard ..

DRIP DRIP DRIP…

I thought it was her getting water from her bowl..

But it was instead the roof

A small part of the roof has fallen in and the CRAZY RAIN/HAIL that is hitting the Northwest has damaged the roof  

And to make matters worse, the water was dripping into my rabbit’s open cage!! ChaCha was out in her playpen at the time (I keep her cage open so she can go in and do her business and eat) and as soon as I saw the roof was leaking, I pounded on my dad’s bedroom door, told him and I grabbed ChaCha (she wasn’t too happy, but I wasn’t either), put her in my bathroom until I could move her playpen into my room.

My dad is really angry. We are trying to sell the house. It was built sometime in the 1970’s… and he still is paying house insurance.. HOWEVER, it is Washington state  It rains in every season

I’m a bit worried!! That room is bunny’s room.. I hope the roof will get fixed soon.. poor ChaCha  She began thumping like crazy after I put her into my room.

A small section caved in.. and it had to be right under where bunny’s cage is!! The roof was old anyhow..

I am moving her into the living room until it gets fixed. She must be so stressed out Poor thing

I wish I could hug her, but she hates being picked up!

Awww, that sucks! I’m glad your bun is fine. Will insurance pay for the roof at all?

I’m not sure
There might be a roof inspector coming (my dad is on the phone with them at the moment) but I’m not sure if the house insurance will cover it. It might just be a “It needed to be changed anyway” sort of thing and it won’t be covered.

But my dad is trying. I hope it isn’t going to cost too much :'(

Ouch! Yeah the rain and wind has been nuts here in oregon, last night i swear i thought the trees were all gonna come cashing down outside from the wind.

Well, more bad news. The part of the roof fell down onto the carpet and the inside stuff fell on some of the bunny’s toys .. ugh

Wednesday is when the repairs will be done..
