So my bunny attacked my other bunny.

So I have four bunnies: Caramel, Bertie, Flower, and Vanilla. Caramel is Bertie and Flower’s mom. She’s kinda taught Bertie and Flower to be aggressive towards Vanilla, even though Vanilla is such  friendly little bun. Even though, however, the most Bertie and Flower will do is pluck out some of Vanilla’s fur and leave her alone. However, Caramel is super violent towards Vanilla. While I was cleaning out their enclosure, Caramel got out when I locked her in and attacked Vanilla. She bit Vanilla and plucked out some fur near her eye. Even though she thankfully didn’t hurt Vanilla’s eye, she severed a bit of skin above Vanilla’s eye area and there is a bit of skin hanging out!!!! I don’t know what to do. I know that she will probably need stitches from the vet’s office, but the vet’s office is closed until Monday. I’ve just cleaned out Vanilla’s eye area. I’ve got it to stop bleeding. What can I do to help her? I’m just clueless and worried. Vanilla is eating fine, but I can tell that her wound is still hurting.

You can clean the area with a tiny bit of betadine iodine, but be VERY careful not to get it into the eye. I would use a q-tip. If you think it is bad enough for stiches, I would really recommend you do not wait until Monday to get it checked out. Could you find another vet?
If you can, snap a picture of the wound so we can see what we are dealing with.

Yes, my buns are all spayed and neutered.

I am worried that stitching will actually do more harm than good for my baby because it’s so close to her eye. It poses a risk that she may go blind. She lived in an separate air conditioned house with the other rabbits, but I guess this was a catalyst that convinced my parents to let me keep Vanilla inside. So right now, her cage is indoors (away from my other buns), and she is getting more love. I don’t think I’m going to bond them at all anymore, and just keep Vanilla in the main house.

I disinfected her wounds, and I plan to do so at least 4 times a day. She has been eating well and drinking well, so that’s a good sign.

BAD NEWS: I live in a small town, so the vet clinics are all closed on Monday for holiday and I can’t go until Tuesday. Plus, I can’t drive on my own, and I have a mom and a dad that does not want her to go to a vet!!! And I’m worried that since her wound is healing so fast that it will have already healed by Tuesday. She will have her skin flap forever, but my parents say that the vets can’t do anything about her condition without doing the risky stitching.

When you say her skin flap can’t be fixed, are you talking about the skin next to her eye or her third eyelid (nictitating membrane)? My little Wooly has a permanently torn third eyelid, that’s why I ask.

It’s not her eyelids, fortunately. It’s the area above her eyes. She can close her eyes fine still luckily!

Keep it clean (saline), remove all pus and treat with bunny-safe antibiotic cream like polymyxine or terramycin. This is how I’ve dealt with wounds on my bunnies.

I’m so sorry. that looks like a vet trip wouldn’t be un-warranted. I’d advise your parents that you should take her

It’s hard to tell from the picture if it actually needs stitches. I think it would be a good idea to have a vet look at it to make sure it is cleaned out good and if there is a better ointment to use. Neosporin (regular without pain relief) is okay to use, but something like that could become infected so you want to make sure it is cleaned out well. Is there any redness or swelling around the edges?
