Good news first.

Well hershey is now living in her x-pen, set up in the garage (lots and lots of blankets and hidy houses.) She’s loooving it!!!! binkies galore!!!   and i bought foam puzzle flooring and it its so girly

Bad news
Twix has to be re-homed.

My mom declared it today. At least one of the bunnies MUST GO . And unfortunatly that means twix.

she tried bribing me to get rid of both by promising me a puppy, i’ve wanted a dog since i knew what a dog was… but  i said no because i love my bunnies too much. So Twix has her very own add on kijiji now  i will make sure she is re-homed to the perfect family. interviews, visits, and im going to ask for updates regularly.

Awe no.   Thats not good.   I know you will find her a good home.   It is good to visit the home  and see for yourself.   The flaky people would probably say forget it .  The serious ones would say ok. 

I would say no to a puppy too.  Bunnies are so much fun.

I’m sorry you have to lose Twix, but it is probably for the best for all of you. May I suggest that you contact a local shelter or your vet to help rehoming her? I’m not crazy about the posts on kiji, and would like her to find a home via a more reliable bunny resource if it’s possible.

Watch out for the puzzle flooring. That can be dangerous if eaten, so if you see teeth marks, you might have to switch to something safer.

Glad you turned down the puppy. You can be totally devoted to the bunnies you have for years to come.

Since i paid ALOT for twix my mom insisted that i try and get that money back.. hence kijiji.. -.-

I’m really sorry you’ll have to say good-bye to Twix. I don’t understand either but I know you have to respect your Mum’s wishes. I just read the Ad and it looks really good! Lots of info that shows you love her and will only see her go to a good home. I hope you don’t have to deal with any weirdos contacting you!

Have you heard of OREO? Ontario Rabbit Education Organization. There is a forum on the site and a section to post about adoptable rabbits. From what I can tell, this is also for rehoming, not just Rescues. You might be able to post about Twix on there too.

Secretly I’m hoping your Mum will have a change of heart. (((Hugs to you)))

Can you take this a step further now that you will be down to one rabbit and have a “contract” drawn up that states Hershey will be supported financially, receive vet care as necessary, and you will not be coerced into “rehoming” her at a later date.

I am just concerned b/c your mom seems to flip-flop on some of these topics very frequently. I don’t want 6 months to go by and then she’s trying to get rid of Hershey too.

I’m sorry to hear this.  I hope you can find a really good home for her, so the decision feels just right for you and Twix. Are you sure your mum is not open for changing her mind? I mean seeing she wants to give you a dog, which requires so much hard work, then she might just be open for keeping Twix if you talk to her.

But anyhow, I know how it is with parents. I had a bunny when I was a kid as well, and she started out as house bunny but as she reached maturity she was moved outside to live on her own. Nothing you can do when parents make bad decisions and think they know best

Good choice to go with keeping Hershey. A puppy’s vet bills are very much higher than a rabbit’s.

UGH i HATE garages.. *grumble grumble* My cat is going to be spending the night with the bunnies in that garage tonight..
We have mice in the garage.. my cat’s been cleaning them up nicly but theres still a few left. overnight they chewed up 2 parts of my foam mats in herheys cage. (not the full mat but a bit around the edges..) i know it wasnt hershey because the foam is on the outside of the cage.. -.- my mom claims it must have been hershey because she was out of the cage this morning apperently.. i dont understand that because the door was locked last night and she can’t jump over it unless her hut is agains the side of her pen. -.- greeat.. now ive got to go buy MORE!!!! i dont mind that part but im already in dept with my mom, yup 2 days after my b-day and im in dept..
