  Sorry I haven’t been around much. Work has been tiring, plus I got sick with a sinus infection and bronchitis at the same time. I have asthma so both of those things cause it to kick up. So I have just been bleh for awhile.
  
  Smokey is turning 2 on Saturday and I’ve been thinking for almost 6 months now about getting her a friend. I FINALLY found a rabbit rescue that’s not only near me, but also does bun dates. They are so protective of their rabbits, I had to go through a phone screening asking if I knew what to feed Smokey, how big her cage is, what I use for her litter, exercise time, how much and what kind of pellets, etc before I could get an appointment AND their address. It was crazy!
  
  But I was explained to that they are very protective of their bunnies. That they don’t let just anyone walk in and buy them so they can go back to (if they were previously in) a bad home.
  
  The place is called Little Miracles and it’s in Atco, NJ. I live about 25 minutes away, and I have an appointment tomorrow after work, and Smokey is coming along. So hopefully she won’t be the totally mean bossy bun she is with my cats haha. I would LOVE a Holland Lop, or just a lop in general, but we’ll see how tomorrow goes.
  
  I’ll definitely bring my camera, too! So wish Smokey luck : ) And I can’t believe it’s been 2 years already! I remember like it was yesterday when I got her when she was just 2 months old ;D

  Good luck and have fun! Hopefully Smokey will find somebunny suitable. It can be hard dealing with these diva bunnies. LOL

  I know and that’s what I was explaining to them over the phone. How worried I was because she bosses my cats around!
  
  The phone screener said she was amazed at how much knowledge I knew about rabbits and to take care of them. I told her I learned everything not just from my great vet, but from the amazing people at the Binky Bunny forums. When I go tomorrow, I’ll be sure to mention it again, maybe they’ll advertise this site.
  
  This forum has helped me through some of Smokey’s scariest times (like with the gas from the kale) and to give her oat hay when she’s molting, and the right pellets to feed her and the things to look for in Ingredients.
  
  I never really thanked everyone, but I am very thankful this resource was here to help me become a better, more knowledgeable bun owner
  
  I am so excited for her bun dates, whether she is or not haha! I just want it to be 5pm already so I can be there!

  Sorry, Smokey won’t be there when you get home. She’ll be on a jetplane to Washington.. Chacha says she wants a cute Nethie friend

  Yay for bunny speed dating! I’m planning the same thing soon I agree with you Smokey, thanks to this site I have learned sooooo much about bunnies; especially from other peoples situations and how to handle them if/when they happen.

  Well it didn’t go as well as I’d hoped. There weren’t too many bunnies I was interested in. Ones that I were had a bonded mate and would have to be taken home. 2 that I liked weren’t neutered yet and will be neutered next week. One that I REALLY liked was a lionhead named Nicholas. He was beautiful and soft, but I didn’t really like the way he reacted with Smokey too much. He did the usual mounting, and after awhile she stopped running and let him. But after that it was a lot of him trying to bite her legs and face. Which I’m glad he didn’t have front teeth, since he was really trying to bite.
  
  The woman there told me she’d call me next week when the 2 ones I liked there were neutered so we could give them a shot at bonding with Smokey. She also said they’re getting a lop in this week, so maybe when I go next week I’ll hopefully find a match?
  
  Or maybe ChaCha and Smokey can just bond together and be two happy Nethies

  The funniest thing was that Smokey thumped at Nicholas multiple times. I have NEVER heard her thump. She’ll just growl in disapproval. So I guess she really didn’t like him :/

  Oh bummer! Well maybe one of the 2 that’ll be neutered next week will be a match for her.
