Hi, my rabbit is currently on the Small World rabbit food. It seems to be an ok mix. It’s just pellets and the first ingredient is dehydratedalfalfa hay. I’m wanting to switch her over to the science selective rabbit pellets in a few months, (I’m assuming she’s about 4-5 months old right now), and was wondering if these were better, because I don’t know if the Small World rabbit food is the best. Would it be ok to leave her on the Small World until about 6 months old? Or should I switch her over asap? I don’t know if I should as the Small World is alfalfa based.

It’s recommended that rabbits be switched from an alfalfa based pellet to a timothy based pellet at about 6-7 months old. So I don’t think it’d really be a problem to leave her on the Small world until she’s 6 months.

I agree with Moxie. Alfalfa hay is great for young, growing buns. It has extra protein and extra calcium and that’s what they need to put on muscle and develop good strong bones. Then you can do a gradual switch over to Science Selective at 6-7 months.
