  I’m after thoughts and Advice about my 18 month old lion head buck bubble. Quite a few weeks ago now his poo changed to small hard and blackish poops. I read to reduce pellets and feed more hay which I did and am still doing but nothing changed apart from the colour. I then decided to take him to the vets…. he is eating,drinking and pooping plenty and the vet examined him,telling me he is a fit well bunny and that I should deworm him and it could be that he is eating” SPRING GRASS!!”. He’s indoors at night but outdoors in the day and my other rabbits poo hasn’t been affected by “Spring grass”… I took him home feeling silly and the nxt 9 day deworming him. NOTHING has changed … his poop is still small and hard .. i am getting a few larger ones … oblong shape!! but mostly small. ?????Any toughts,??? Not sure I want him to see the same vet !! I’ve just gone out to the outdoor run to find a rally thick white/Orange wee.. . Really thick looking.. tried to up load a pic but it didn’t work.

  Reducing pellets is a good idea to get rabbits to eat more hay. Is he actually eating more of the hay, though? You might want to try some other varieties of hay to make sure that he is eating a good quantity.
  
  If you don’t think he is drinking enough, you can always wet his greens before you give them to him. I assume that he does get greens. Pee can be orange or brownish at times, depending on what the rabbit has been eating. An overall color can be perfectly normal. What you don’t want to see is drops of blood in the pee. Rabbits can also have thick pee at times, but you need to make sure that it’s not actual bladder sludge.

  Wick had small poops when his teeth were given him issues. Any dental problems which may affect his usual eating consumption?

  He is drinking completely fine… I have reduce the greens a little to encourage more hay… I have put 3 different types of hay in his run and hutch and the colour of his poop is better. I see him eatting occasionally but he’s a very particular bunny it has to be said. He likes to keep everything in order lol.
  I’ve looked at his bum this morning and it looks like the poo slits are Orange and slightly sticky!!!I’ve called the vets and ask to see a different one … I have a gut feeling and somethings not right. Thanks for advice tho guys x

  Hope it goes okay at the vets. We had this problem with the buns. For us we think it was too many pellets and the fact they didn’t like meadow hay over much. We didn’t give barn any pellets for a few days and switched them back to timothy hay and everything was fine. We found that some timothy hay infused with marigold or mint doesn’t hurt to get their appetites going.

  All went well at the vets … apparently it could be BSI which is barely understood and this is now his normal poop!! Told he’s complete healthy,fit well bunny.. Thank goodness . I feel better now I’ve had it confirmed twice. #overcouriousbunnylover. I’d rather be safe than have my bunny in pain tho. Thank you for all who have commented and helped… it’s nice to talk to people who understand the bunny love x

  Never heard of BSI. Unless the vet means IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)?? Even then, I wouldn’t be happy with that conclusion.
  
  Is your rabbit going through a moult at the moment?
  
  You mentioned another rabbit. Are they housed together? Do they have a water bottle or crock to drink from.
  
  Small and dry poop sounds like too little fibre and fluids…
  
  You mentioned he’s eating, but it he picking a hay a bit, dropping it from his mouth then coming back to it later?
