Last night S.O. said as we were getting ready for bed “Let’s sleep in the bunny room tonight”. Hehe we piled up blankets and pillows from the living room and ‘slept’ in the bunny room… well tried to. Leo and Arduina were too excited to sleep much. They kept jumping all over us and giving us kisses. Eventually they settled down somewhere for a few hours. Around 5am I got up to pee and when I came back they were awake and jumping all over us again. It was ok until I think Leo decided it was time to chew on a cardboard box, thats when we decided to move back to our room. It was quite fun camping out with the bunnies! I think if we did it regularly they would get use to it…
In other news: The other day S.O. (who was first against adopting any animals) went into the bunny room to say hi to them and said “Hi Kids!”.
He’s really grown attached them
. A couple weeks ago we went to visit his brother who has little kids and S.O. said something like “yeah they’re like our kids” to his brother, referring to our bunnies. (When we first adopted Arduina, S.O. said no were like aunt and uncle, not parents). I love having bunny kids! But definitely not real kids, nope, I’m fine with just animal kids (maybe add in a few more in the future
).
What a sweet story. It’s nice that your S.O. is warming up to the buns. My husband would never ever suggest sleeping in our rabbit room LOL. Sounds like Leo and Arduina enjoyed your company too.
Fun but only a sometimes thing?
I agree, very sweet your SO was inspired to do that.
I sleep in my living room often with the rabbits. Always in the early hours though I have Jersey incessantly nagging for breakfast so I now take a container in to have by my makeshift bed. Then I can roll over, feed them their pellets and go back to sleep. Lovely, lovely sleep.
So cute!
I have been tempted to sleep on the floor since I have back problems but I get SUPER grouchy if my sleep gets interrupted so I always figure it’s best not to try that. lol I don’t think Lolli would mess with me too much but you never know.
I’ve only slept in the same room with Dutchess one night, because we had a mouse (I SAW it) in the area she was in when I came down for a drink, and I freaked, so I hauled her whole habitat upstairs at 2 a.m. and she got to sleep in my room. I’ll never forget the expression on her face when she looked at me, like “You see that thing, too, don’t you?” and kept her ears and eyes straight on me the whole time. The mouse was in a trap the next morning thankfully, so she got back to her normal sleep spot the next night. Bunny sleep overs are awesome! It would be cool to have big bunny sleep overs, with people all bringing bunnies to a neutral place or little indoor campsite or something.
That is so sweet!
Bunnies have the abilities to grow on people
That’s such an adorable story! What a fun time : D
I got a studio apartment it’s me n Babs 24/7 lol I’m beginning to think she’s planning to move me into the pen while she has free run considering she’s only put in the run when I can’t keep an eye on her. We basically share hehehe
ooops sorry dunno what happened there!
Deleted the dupe post. No problem.
I love bunny sleepovers. I used to bunk in on the floor with Spockie a lot in his last year, because he wasn’t well at times and I felt nervous if I couldn’t hear him immediately.
But on a lighter note, I have fallen asleep more times than I can count with Samantha running around while I’m watching TV on a pillow on the floor and zzzzzzzz…..I wake up. She’s been loose the whole time. Often she puts herself back into her house so she’s actually asleep also. I think.
I had a sleepover with Merry last night – I was a little nervous doing it since she’s been sniffing around one of the blocked off areas a lot lately, but she was a happy girl and slept on the comfy chair and on the 2d floor of her Haven. She only woke me up once when she accidentally kicked one of my grids when jumping onto the chair.
Otherwise the little girly was sooo well behaved (I assume, I was asleep lol) and very happy since I only got to spend 1/2 hour with her yesterday
awwww. very sweet
i want to try that this weekend with the pinkster!
love how your s.o. has warmed to the bunbuns. ![]()
How nice. They do grow on you.
I don’t think I could do a bunny sleepover. Every time I fall asleep in the bunny room, I wake up because of all the licks on my face. ![]()
Ooo ooo! An idea
We should coordinate and Annual Binky Bunny Slumber Party.
A night spent snoozin with your beloved House Bunnies.
Then we can drag ourselves after the fitful night’s sleep to the forums to report in.
I like it!
Heheh! I always have admired those people who sleep with their bunnies free run in their bedroom. Please share your stores of future bunny sleepovers!
(Sorry I didn’t get back right away – we had a huge wind storm with 85mph winds a couple days ago and finally got the power back on, just in time for the snow to hit! A tree landed on our garage knocking down the power lines for the whole block. We still need to get the tree off and cleaned up, but at least we have heat and power again. I think the buns were scared of our flashlights so they seem glad we have power and heat again.)
Taking Leo in today for a vet checkup.
