Stanley has been making this strange noise lately. It IS NOT all of the time. Only when he sits with all four paws underneath him or sits straight up. when he lays with his feet out and looks more comfortable,  I never hear it. It’s kinda hard to explain the noise but I guess it sounds like a very quiet snore/wheeze. I wish I could give a better description. I don’t spray any perfumes in my room and I even have an air purifier in my room(expensive). Only thing is..(Which drives me CRAZY) my dad smokes in his room downstairs and you can smell it in my room at times. He’s not supposed to per our landlord but oh well. It’s very aggravating but carrying on.. He smokes sometimes but he has 2 jobs to it’s not a constant thing.

As I said he doesn’t always breathe like that. My breeder said  it could just be the way he’s laying down.

He’s eating drinking and playing. He doesn’t have a runny nose and is not sneezing. Just wanted to know if anyone’s ever heard this noise.

Ok.. I lied. He was just doing it while eating a little.

Um…. no idea Caitlyn. I’ve never ever heard Henry make a sound – accept for crashing into a wall taking a sharp left while doing zoomies, ha ha – so funny! (silly bunny). I hope it’s not the smoking? I have a smoker in my house too. I’m sure BBer’s who’s bunny makes noises may be able to assist with that one Caitlyn. Cheers!

I’ve heard rabbits on youtube videos people have made asking questions about it. Some rabbits do make noises like light snoring, and some rabbits make noises when they eat sometimes.

Unless he has a genetic issue that smoking would exacerbate, I wouldn’t assume smoking either. I know their respiratory systems are delicate, but my husband and I both smoke (quitting officially on Saturday!) and are home ALL the time in the same room with Bumpy. We’ve had him 6 1/2 months now, so I guess he’s officially a smoker who will be quitting on Saturday too. He doesn’t make noises really either.

I’m sure others will respond, but I’d guess it’s just the way he’s laying too, or when he’s especially enjoying something he’s eating. If he seems well in all other areas, I wouldn’t worry.

When Apollo breathes very heavily, particularly when being held, he will wheeze like described. I’m not sure, but he’s perfectly fine and healthy – vet said so a couple weeks back! I shouldn’t worry too much unless you start seeing blockage/discharge! Cheers!

Bindi sometimes makes a slight wheezy sound when he’s laying down. I had the vet check his lungs and she said all sounds fine. It’s really impossible to say whether it is something to be concerned about or not. Only a vet can tell you 100% by listening to his respiratory system.

Is there any nasal discharge or sneezing?
