Ok so I am not getting another rabbit any time soon, not until we move into a new house after the holidays. But I would like to start looking. I have heard that having more then one rabbit is better? They are happier when not alone? So I was wondering when looking for a rabbit to bond with yours does size matter? Should I be looking for one that is similar in weight and such? I know that a neutered male would be best since Loki is a female.

Size and breed do not matter when looking for a friend for a single bun. When you do find one I suggest going through a rescue, some even allow bunny dates to help you find the “right” one, Loki’s choice not so much yours. If you find ones that you are particularly interested in a bunny date will be the true deciding factor.

In my signature picture, Davey was my first then I got Delilah as a friend for him, she is a little bigger. Dexter in the middle was much smaller when I got him and started the bonding of all three.

              Here’s a perfect ADORABLE example: http://saveabunny.org/node/5111

that example was SO cute! good to know! I think when the time comes I will call some rescues and see about doing the whole “dating” thing.

The important thing is that the size works for you. I could never fit a flemish giant in my apartment and the amount of food he’d go through would be a bit expensive for me.

Not to mention how hard he’d kick.  Ow.  But I’ve worked with the two in the example and Jessica is just a big o’ cuddle bug.

If I weren’t in an apartment, I would so think about driving down to get Jessica and Jack, they’re just adorable. Not sure how Monkey would take to it tho lol. Poor buns, hope someone adopts them!

Ya well Loki is half flemish, totally not as big, only about 10 pounds now. I was thinking something a little bit smaller would be great haha, but that I am guessing would be totally up to her! And yes Markbun, even though she is only half, she goes through food like CRAZY! I feed her 2 cups of veggies in the morning and 2 cups at night plus a little bit more then half a cup of pellets and hay at all times. She eats quite a bit! haha

Hi Ashelee, where abouts are you? Not even sure which country you’re in, but if Australia let me put my rescue out there as one that does a bunny dating service *warning: pornographic scenes may occur between desexed bunnies of opposite sex.

Thank you Porsche’s Rescue! I am actually in the US. Wish I lived in Australia! I absolutely LOVE it there! I def will be rescuing a bunny though if its at all possible. I know when I lived in Florida the humane society down there wouldnt let me adopt a pet because I wasnt a “family” and well technically my boyfriend and I wouldnt be considered a “family” either. but we will see, the rescues up here might be different!
