This is our first forray into the world of rabbits! Sir Timothy Hayeater III! We are totally enthralled with our new little bunny. Hopefully someone has an idea of his breed, any input is greatly appreciated. We had him in a large store bought cage at first and then built home a 3 story c&c cage so he has a ton more room to run around and play. We enjoy several outings a day where he gets to run around supervised. We are also slowly allowing our 2 dogs to have some supervised time with our bun as they are so curious about each other!

Hi! Do you have a pic you can post of him, or description of his size/color/markings? I can tell from his name that he must be a little hay monster like my Luna .

Apparently I can’t figure out how to work photos on here. If you have Instagram you can search “sirtimothyhayeater” and see tons of pics of him there.

Hi there mig, welcome to the BB forums and also the world of rabbits! Or should i say, the world of bunny-slavedom??

I added the photo in your first post. You uploaded the file just fine, after that’s done, you just need to click on the “insert photo” icon for it to appear in your post.

Sir Timothy has japanese harlequin markings so it’s possible that he is Harlequin breed, though it is a colour/coat pattern that occurs in other breeds.  The actual breed is on the larger side, from memory. About 8lbs or more.

He could easily be a mix of breeds.   Is he fully grown now?

I took a look at the instagram. I just love that photo where he looks like he’s whispering in someones ear!  It’s funny, as he looks tiny there but much bigger in other photos. Trick of photography, I suppose!

He was born June 23, 2017! He’s so amazing, who knew rabbits were so fun? Who knew they were so involved? Who knew they end up with more toys than you, more living space than you and certainly more things in the fridge to eat lol

And a big welcome from me He’s a gorgeous man!

Haha, yes, rabbits are a huge surprise to most people. Most people expect something in line with a guinea pig or a hamster, not knowing they’re going to end up with an animal which is a lot like a dog. And rabbits are super sociable and curious. If you can’t clean anything without “supervision” or have trouble getting privacy in the house’s smallest room, you know you’ve got yourself a bun
