This evening, I went to give Sebastian and Juliet their evening pellets (1/2 cup). They both usually rush right over, but when I put the pellets down, Juliet came, and Sebastian didnt. This is VERY ODD because usually Sebastian is the good eater. Is he just not hungry? Should I try to quarantine him so I can see his poops? (He would still be able to see Juliet). We went through stasis in February of 2017 and I hope that this is not a relapse.

Since it’s abnormal behavior involve eating, I do suggest closely monitoring poos and appetite. Try and feed him a treat and see if he’s willing to take it. If not, I recommend seeing a vet immediately.

Definitely clean boxes and monitor poops. I don’t think separating him from his mate is a good idea, but rather watch him like a hawk for poops. Could be stasis or gas, or other, but very unlikely to be “not hungry”.

Is he eating hay and veggies? Often pellets are the first thing turned down with onset of stasis.

I just gave him a little piece of carrot, and he did eat that.

He just pooped a few and they were relatively normal sized.

And now, we decide to eat the pellets! I will still keep a close eye on him.
