I heard we used to have a messy bunny pen thread, untouched BEFORE cleaning!
Unfortunetly I have cleaned everyone today except Plum Bun, she did get some fresh aspen shavings but I didn’t pick up her mess …
So lets see how messy your bunnies are!!!
Oh Bun…why do you poop all over and insist the hay must go everywhere? And where exactly does she think digging in that corner will get her to?

I think it is safe to say that Bun is digging to increase her territory, and in case she succeeds she will leave some droppings for others to know the place is hers even though she may have exited through a corner tunnel~
I hope this thread catches on, I love messy pen photos.
Since Mops left I have less mess. Stray littering has died off too because I yielded and gave my new quartet a third litter box again.
But this photo is one of my fond memories of Mops who was a major shredding machine. The thing is that he used to tear off equal-sized pieces.

Here is Mimzy’s Mess. I get to deal with this first thing each morning…and if I’m especially lucky, twice a day as he needs another spiff up in the evenings… (admittedly the 2nd round isn’t this bad, but still…he gets a stink on)
Litter box tipping is almost a daily thing now. He must’ve been going too fast to take the curve….
These areas are where the litterbox WOULD be if he hadn’t crashed it:

Now this really, well, pisses me off. If he’d leave the box there it would’ve been caught, because…
He refuses to use this side of the litter!!! (that sound you hear is ME grinding MY teeth!)

I warned you guys what a disaster it was! lolz…and this was a SLOW day for him! ^_^
Luckily Pip and Fiver don’t make this much mess. But they have little bunny mattresses in their pens that take up a lot of flooring…Mimzy just has too much room to slide things around in for his own good. >.<
Still, I look forward to maybe getting them all bonded and in one pen for day and night (it’s going to have to be huge, obviously) so that I’ve only got one space to clean from now on. Plus they’ll get to keep each other company.
Going to take LOTS of rearranging in my house for that though…. *sigh* Working on it.

Goodness! They are like mirror images of each other. I was looking for the mess in the Before pictures. They’d done a bit of rearranging but Mir, your girls are clean!
CLEAN!? ha! behind the cardboard box they dumped the litter box.. :s but it was on a blanket so i just dumped it back in

Wow, now I won’t feel so alone when my bunnies make a mess – and do they ever. I’ve just now been able to post a picture of Petie’s mess hall in this great thread because it’s only now that I have internet service agian AND have discovered how to get my pictures down to a manageable size, I hope.

Awesome Thread!!! I’ve been meaning to snap some pictures after I clean in there and I never remember. I tidy every day but the big clean is once a week and for some reason I never remember to take pictures. I also need a new memory card-mine is almost full (yeah I know you can delete them but I worry!)
So perfect thread for me!! Warning: Contains poopies!
As you can see naughty Noot’s side is dirty-he doesn’t use a potty so I gave up and those are puppy pee pads. Perfect because they suck up moisture and he doesn’t chew them up at all. The blanky has fur on it if your wondering-that is my experiement-Kahlua needed a haircut so I put some of her fur in Noots pen on the blanky to see if he’d like that.
And this is Rupert and Kahlua’s side
Rupert is in his window viewing platform even though it’s dark out-maybe he thinks he can see
I know my neighbors have a clear view of a bunny in the window

My boyfriend and I have an ongoing battle with Peppy, to see who can outsmart the other – we try to fix her cage in a new destructo-bunny-proof way, and she manages to make a mess anyways
First, it was litter box moving/flipping or peeing over the edge – we got a bigger box that went up higher on the side, and put in a wood bar to secure it in place. Then it was food bowl flipping, which was solved by buying a bigger heavier (doggie) diner and securing the bowls with a removeable latch made out of strips of metal. Having been foiled again, Peppy turned her havoc-wreaking attention to her hay…wherever we put a bunch of hay, she would poop/pee! The solution so far has been to latch a medium-sized cardboard box to the side of the cage, small enough so that she can’t climb in and do her business inside.
This is the arrangement that has lasted the longest so far…*crosses fingers* We clean out the litter daily, and that’s as far as the mess goes
. However, I don’t doubt that my ever-scheming bun is working on more ways to give us headaches! 
Her food bowl is empty and the hay is low, but I promise we feed her!

Its natural for bunnies to go potty where their hay is. It’s just what they do. I usually just put a handful of hay in their litterbox, and thats where they go
Oh of course! It’s just a little frustrating to be throwing out soiled handfuls of hay every night, but we do try to put some in her litter box to munch on when we remember

My buns are not too messy. Downstairs in their house we have a few stray poops, but they have nothing on Jersey
And then we have their lair behind the sofa…
If you look carefully, you may see the puddle caused by Bisto landing in the water bowl when Oxo decide he Wanted To Be Alone.

Kahlua! *giggles* Oh poor poppet. She’s seems embarrassed. No offence K&K.
I noticed the 4 litterboxes along the divider. Experiencing poop wars are you? :p
Is Noot tilty? : ( Or is this just because of his vision now?
No I just wanted them close to each other-so I put toilets along the ‘fence’ and then food stations
They do seem to want to ‘go’ along the territory line so it worked well Noot has always had a slight tilt when he’s anxious it’s weird-but it’s not real….like…if he’s anxious (ie. I’ve picked him up) he tilts a little and otherwise it’s not there. It’s kind of behavioral. We ran through meds just in case and tested of course-but it’s only there when he’s anxious so it seems behavioral.
