I have been noticing my rabbit getting kind of aggressive when it is time for me to let her out again. For example, when I walk down stairs, she notice her biting on the cage door. When I try to open it, she not only bites, but starts growling. Does this mean she needs more space?

I have her in this extra large dog crate when I am in bed. But since I am homeschooled, I get to wake up every morning, and let her out for the whole day. She is very lucky imo, since she is basically free roaming for most of the day. Because of this, I thought it wouldn’t be an issue to get an extra large dog crate. Should I get a puppy pen, and extend it onto the crate?

Even a large dog crate isn’t big enough if the bun is to be confined for any period of time so in my opinion yes you should attach a pen for when you lock her up.

Yes, expand! I use a roofless cage/playpen for my bunny, and I only secure my cage door when I am doing something that presents a danger to him, like vacuuming or putting cables/items on the floor that he could swallow. 99% of the time his cage door is open and he has free reign. A dog crate doesn’t sound nearly big enough to comfortably house a rabbit. They need enough space to be able to hop around, and to stand up on their hind legs without their ears touching the roof. They need lots of space to exercise and binky whenever they want to.

Is your bunny active during the day? I know my bunny sleeps in the daytime and is most active during the night when I am in bed. This whole time, I leave his cage door open so he can be free. If you are locking your bunny up at night, this may be the time when she would most like to run around and exercise.
