Roo is shedding like crazy. I’m pulling large clumps of hair out of her. I’m brushing her multiple times a day for as long as she lets me. Nothing has changed wit her. She’s eating and drinking normally. We were just at the vet last week for a check up before all of this started and he didn’t find anything wrong. I got her at the end of May last year so this is my forst spring with her. Do they get a winter coat that needs to shed when it gets warm?

Yes she is going through a molt!  Edson is about done but has been shedding for at least 3-4 weeks now.  The more I brush the more that comes out! She is shedding her winter coat!  I was told to not over groom.  So I have cut down to about every other day.  I sure hope this ends soon!!!

She’s molting! A way to try and subside the extra fur is to brush every hour so that way you don’t get stuc with a lot of fur. The food and water dish should be cleaned every 3 hours just in case there is fur in there. Also make sure you have a good brush that traps the fur but doesn’t hurt your bunny. Always make sure there is plenty of water because your bunny can get very VERY thirsty with all of the extra fur. Hope this ends soon!

yep – she s molting, bunnies do that about 4 times a year. brushing, lots of water and fresh hay all can help keep her from ingesting too much of it.

I’ve had Toki for 3 years now and he’s never shed like this either. But I’ve read that eat molting can vary; mild to severe.
