So my Dad came up this mornng to wake me up for school and my rabbit was watching him. So I said ‘pet him he may be starting to like you’ so my Dad went over and opened his cage. I thought he was just going to pet him like I said so I went on my phone, but instead of listening to what I actually said my Dad proceeded to take him out of his cage. (I’m the only one who can do that without him panicking) So Thumper panicked pretty badly and I think he hit his foot on the cage which broke one of his nails off. (They’re super long I’ve been begging my mom to help me cut them for a while now). My Dad thought Thumper peed on him so he dropped him on my bed and my rabbit also cut him up bad cauze he was shirtless (his own stupidity). So I thought he really did pee until I saw the blood. He’s broken a nail before so I wasn’t panicking. We just cleaned the cut and put septic pen on it. But,I just started panicing when Thumper began to lie down and shake, is that just aftermath of what happened or should I be very concerned? Also is there any tips to get blood off a shirt and matress because he left a lot of small blood spots.

Poor Thumper, bunnies aren’t like dogs, I hope your dad listens to you next time Maybe you can teach him that bunnies are prey animals and if you scare them they can easily die from fear, that you don’t pick up unless they ask to be picked up!

I know when my lop gets scared, she breathes fast and can make her look like she is shaking. Is he still acting not normal and scared? I wouldn’t be surprised if he acted like that for an hour or two, poor thing thought he want gonna die. If he is still acting like that hours after, I would see a vet because you don’t want him to have a heart attack, just pet him and be calm with him and hopefully he will be okay.

You can use detergent, without water and let it sit on the fabric for a couple of hours and then wash in cold water. You could probably also use a tide stick?-ive never used for blood but i think it might work.
