No word of a lie, my Neigey keeps his own nails short, at least the hindquarter ones. I have only had to clip them once when he was a kit. He nibbles them down to the quick. This is very convenient.

Mickey did that when he got older, we didn’t trim them as much and I finally figured it out that he was trimming them himself. I wish all buns did that!

I always wondered, my Jersey Baby has TINY nails, and when i go to clip them they are always the same length, just sometimes a bit sharp.
Your little man want to tell my Rex how to do this? I cannot clip his nails by myself, he acts like we are killing him, is very strong and just get’s so upset from the whole progress. On Nail clipping day a week back he actually peed he was so upset, he’ll lay down after refusing treats and acting like he’s dying….
Oh and i don’t flip him (it’s imposssible). He’s my drama queen.

I think my Daisy does the same thing. He’s the most nervous and shy of the bunch and I wondered if he was chewing them because they never need clipping. The other odd thing is the pink quick goes all the way to the end, I’d be afraid to cut them if I had to.

Hm. Might I either borrow Neigey for some quick instruction to my own bunnies or send them to you? Hey yeah…two birds there…you can bond them too! ^_^
Wow. I wish mine did that. I am already looking at a vet visit just to get theirs trimmed…Pip’s are dangerously long right now.

You would worry yourself sleepless, Mimz, if your precious buns were with me. I am a bonding tyrant (I think).

Our Hoopie does this too. He was thrown out at about 1 yr old so I personally think that he decided to trim his own since no one else was doing it. lol Definitely a nice thing but he needs to learn how to file them.

That would be wonderful (self trimming)

We get his clipped and file them smooth (to remove the sharp edges) with a Pedi-paws. He doesn’t mind it. He’s pretty calm though.

I wish all bunnies would trim their own nails! We just trimmed 2 of my buns nails yesterday, they handled it pretty well…. But, they weren’t happy about it. I have one bun, Rupert, who is amazing with his nails trimed. We’ve been doing it since he was 4 months old and I just wrap hinm in a towel, he sits on my lap and we cut with no fuss at all. I told all my others to take note of how Rupert does it.
