  Yes im a new member on this site i love it it gave me some great tips on litter training for my bun i have a 6 month old Lop who is very curios i have a problem though she scratchs me constantly every time i pick her up after the first few months of this i gave up saying "she’s just scared of heights" i have never dropped to the floor even when she has scratched me i can even sit on the floor just to hold her and she gets very irritated and scratches me painfully i can barely ever pet her or anything before she walks off it is really frustrating for me and it is really hard when i go to groom her in any way so if any one could give me tips that would be great thx…..

  Welcome bames13!! Rabbits can scratch for many reasons. Out of anxiety, to get to the other side, to dig a scrape – a lounge area, and to find something yummy.
  
  Most bunnies are not fond of being picked up, and some bunnies forever HATE it no matter what. (like my bunny Jack)
  
  You can try bribing – give treats while you hold so she can associate something positive with being held. This may at least get her to tolerate it, but realistically, your bunny is like most. They like to be pet with all four on the floor. So you may need to grab a pillow and find a compfy place and share the floor with her instead of her sharing your lap. There is great joy in sharing the floor. I LOVE it when my bunnies snuggle next to me. Their cute little fuzzy whiskers rubbing my nose and leaning against my arm. AH!! Pure joy.

  ok well i guess i will just have to learn to respect her wishes and keep her on all fours thankyou for the advice…

  Yeah – most bunnies hate being picked up – their instincts scream "OMG SOMETHING’S GONNA EAT ME!!!!". You just have to respect it. They can be taught to tolerate it, but most never like it.
  
  I do really well with getting down on the floor with my bun, and letting her approach me. Being a bunny-jungle-gym is fun! But she won’t even let me pet her except when she is sitting in a couple of designated "pet spots" – one is up on a bookshelf, and another on the futon. You just learn to adjust to their habits and quirks – that what makes them so fun!
