Does your bunny ever sleep like the dead? I mean, do they flop so completely that they look like they’re miming roadkill?
I just glanced over at Sammy and she is flat as a flounder. If I thought she wouldn’t move I would get a pix for you guys. (Just tried. She moved.)
In fact, that’s the point of this thread. Post pix of your bunnies in their most dramatic flops, they’re passed-out-like-a-drunken-sailor sleeps, or their “how’d a bunny that big get into a space that small” scenes. You know what I mean.
Those poses where, when you’re dialing the vet for the emergency, the bunny leaps up, binkies, and runs away shouting “Gotcha!”
(Here’s a pix of her just because she looks so cute.)

Logie always flops under my bed, next to the heater. Whenever I see him like this, I debate whether I should make sure he’s alive, or grab the camera, haha. Usually I make a noise to see if he moves, but he was just so darn cute that I had to get a picture first.
Bindi scares me all the time with his super flop outs. It’s so adorable but too peaceful looking. I always have to go make sure his nose is going or his little belly is moving. I wish there was no bars in the way of his “teddy bear” cuteness.

Olivia flops sometimes but this is what I call “the Crescent Bunny”.

Stormy never flops for sleeping. He always just sleeps in the “loaf” position. I never once caught him in a deep sleep. He’s always alert. Sometimes after run time he will flop all out for a rest though.
I’ve never seen Ms. Rabbit doing a dead bunny flop, but I occasionally do catch something like this:

I don’t have any pictures, but when Eddie first did the dead flop, I completely freaked out and thought he had literally dropped dead. I ran over and started rubbing him all over. He popped up with an ear all cockeyed, looking very annoyed, gave me a “leave me the eff alone” look and hopped off. LOL Lolli has never felt safe enough to sleep flop. The closest she gets is stretching out on her belly and putting her head on the floor.
Olivia looks like a princess, even in sleep.
Chacha just loafs.. most of the time. Or she flops out.. and naps for several minutes. I could post that hysterical photo of her with her legs against the book shelf ![]()
Hannah has never flopped, except once or twice during bonding (when they would have flop wars). Now she sleeps in the loaf (usually so I can’t see any of her feet) or will occasionally flick her back feet out behind her.
Otto is good at flops, but only does them in his maze and it’s really hard to get pictures 🙁
The best is when Otto flops randomly in the living room two or three times in a row – he never goes to sleep, just flops over, gets back up, flops again, etc. It’s so cute! He rarely does it, but I get so excited when he does.
I keep reading your title as Scary SLIPPERS. Yeah, no clue either. LOL
I love the crescent bunny! I call that position the banana bun, haha.
I don’t think we ever did see Tammo flop, but the rest of the bunnies do it all the time. Peppy, however, is the ultimate “scary sleeper”…I figure she would make a terrible wild bunny since she passes out so soundly when she sleeps. I’ve probably posted these two pics a billion times, but here are two for those who have not seen them before. Every once in a while I catch sight of something ridiculous, but she always moves before I can whip out the camera. Noooooo!
Classic dead-looking Peppy flop:
She wasn’t even flopped out in this one…she was sleeping upright and fell over! Hehe, you can see her shaved paw from when she was spayed.

Peppy is exactly what I meant – LOL. You can never post those pix too often.
LChaCha, so where is the pix, eh? *Poke*
(We always like to see the good pix more than once.)
Otto needs a movie of the triple flop process. Please.
She FELL OVER?!? hahahahaha
If I saw my bunny doing the flop Peppy was doing in the first picture, I think I’d faint. She even has a blank look on her face!
Abby does a dead flop. She lands on her back! LOL She only stays that way for 60 seconds top and only if nobody moves. Too bad she won’t stay long enough for pictures. She will often come over to me while I’m laying on the floor and flop over right up next to me. =)
Pacey’s favorite position is a flop but he jumps up as soon as he sees anyone and runs over to say hi.
Dini on the other hand you would think the rabbit is deaf when he sleeps. He flops over in his little bed and you can’t wake him up for anything the only way he wakes up is when you touch him. It scared me to death the first time I was literally yelling his name right next to his head and he didn’t move. I touched him and he popped right up.
Cheddar does it a lot. On another note, one time I was watching TV and my girl Poopy was sitting on the litterbox. Then she just fell off of it. I thought she just dropped dead. Turns out that she was sleeping and fell off.
Bunny loaf haha. I call that position with no feet “the egg”. I just pass by them when they are in that position and say, “Hello, egg” or “Hello, hen”. They do look like mother hens with eggs under them LOL.

Hahaha I’m still laughing about Peppy falling over. That’s hilariously cute ![]()
I’ve yet to catch a good dead bunny flop on camera cause Oreo always moves the second I reach for my phone to snap a picture. But literally as I was reading this thread she was sitting next to me and flopped so hard that it made a giant THUD against the floor. She hopped right back up though with her ears all perked up, I think she scared herself with that noise. I swear, my 3lb bun flops like a 300lb man ![]()
That sounds like Fiver. He has hit the floor hard enough to make a noise plenty of times. Anyone ever seen what happens when you scare a goat? That’s almost how he does it. The legs stick out as he goes over. Used to scare the heck out of me. But I haven’t seen him do this in a long time and I’ve never gotten a pic of it.
I wish I had video of Mimzy as he used to ‘twist’ himself into a flop. But that was before I had a camera and now that I do have one he doesn’t do it anymore.
I think Pip is too stuck up to flop. Mustn’t do anything to make her look less regal, I don’t dote on her enough as it is and if she lifts that royal foot I might squirm out from under it! >_<
Tank never sleeps like that. Sometimes he’ll let his back feet to the side, but he almost always sleeps upright, eyes open, except a few months ago, when he was sick.
Because he was sick, we honestly thought he was dead. We said good bye and everything. Two minutes later he hops up and starts tearing at his hay.
edit; double post removed
This is the best thread ever = I love to watch bunnies sleep whether flop, eggs or what have you! I just want to come by and tickle their stomachs! lol
Those are great pics. Both of mine flop regularly, but Meadow being a mini rex, you can easily see she is breathing. Max on that other hand… he is a scary flopper. And the fact that we don’t know his exact age (but he is a senior) makes it especially frightening.
Those pix are excellent! Camera phones might just be the answer. Keep ’em coming!
ChaCha, you are too freakin’ adorable in that pose.
This was one of my first experiences with the dead bunny flop

and this one i took just a few minutes ago. it’s not really a scary flop, but peeps is too cute!

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!! I’M COMING TO STEAL YOUR BUNNIES P&W!!!!
OMG that last pic is just way over-the-top cuteness!!!
uh oh! good thing you don’t know where i live!
in that last pic he started with his head up. then i started petting him and he kept lowering his head. you can’t see very well in the pic, but his eyes are closed <3
I just took these today, and thought they would make a great addition to this thread. Typical day in the life of Peppy girl…

I wish I could relax like that!! Must be nice to be a spoiled bunny and have absolutely nothing to stress about! ![]()
They talk about bunnies suffering from boredom. These bunnies don’t look like they’re suffering to me!
how’s this for a scary sleeper?? ![]()

AAAAAAAAAACKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!1
I love this thread! No flops for me, Samson sleeps in a little ball, I think he was stretched out earlier too, but he jumped up as soon as I came in ![]()
