Hey everyone! My name is Aurora and I am a new bunny mom. Since I relied so much on this site the past few weeks for info about caring for bunnies I thought I would share the newest addition to my household with you all. Sooo… meet Naga! She is an ~8 year old bun who was surrendered to a bunny shelter near me because her family could no longer take care of her. My roommate and I adopted her and just brought her home yesterday.
From the little I know about her past, I would say Naga has been a well travelled bunny. She was adopted by her last family from a shelter in Illinois and lived with them in Louisiana. She was surrendered in Austin, TX, where we adopted her. I would also guess that she has been well treated in her past. She is very trusting of people and actively seeks out human attention. At the shelter she quickly won our hearts by nudging us for pets and laying with her head down low as we stroked her.
I don’t have a ton of pictures yet because I wanted to give her time and space to accommodate to her new home, but here are a couple of pictures of her making herself comfortable on her new shelf.

I am going to continue to take it slow for the next few days, but I think she is adjusting quite well. She’s eating and pooping/peeing (mostly) in the litterbox. Last night when she was out in the xpen she kept exploring her new surroundings and binkying. She even stuck her nose under my hand when I reached for her litter box and immediately flopped down for pets. It was pretty adorable.
I know this was one long ramble, but I’m excited to jump into the bunny world and share my new adventures with an enthusiastic bunny community!
