Saw a multitude of baby bunnies on the back of a Magazine..

First…I know many of us tend to come here to vent or discuss things we see or come across that bother us since many times other people in our families just don’t see our fascination with rabbits. So please don’t shoot me for posting.

So…I was in the grocery store today at the check out and a magazine caught my eye. It was the back ad (no idea what mag it was) with that E News host Guilianna with her husband sitting on a couch with dozens and dozens of baby bunnies playing in the floor and on the couch. They were everywhere! And then Guilianna was holding an adorable white baby bunny in her hands. The caption was something like, “If you don’t succeed then try, try again.”

But here is the kicker…they have been running Guilianna and her husbands reality show on the Entertainment news channel and I caught it the other day. It was an episode where they were discussing moving into a different house and during the episode they go down to their favorite butcher shop. They show whats in the case that includes full body rabbits for sale. And then Guilianna goes into a discussion about how her family are huge fans of rabbit meat and they eat it all the time.

 How ironic that she would be in an add with a bunch of baby bunnies.

But I guess it is no more ironic than someone being in a picture with a bunch of cows for a milk ad.  But then again, I dont exactly have 4 cows out back that are pets. lol

Ugh. That ticks me off. I don’t even know who that is, but now I already don’t like her. Grrr……

Yeah there is this dufus upstairs where my neighbor lives.  I took Cotton over for her to meet him.   When I left the dufus says on yum rabbit I eat those. 

When her and I left he said that too.   She told him  oh thats terrible you want to eat that poor girls rabbits. Shame on you.

I live in a small Czech town and they are very fond of rabbit dishes. There’s a guy outside of town who raises meat rabbits and you can go out and pick the one you want and he butchers it for you…..gross! I’ve never been there but several of my brother in laws used to get them quite often.

I wouldn’t dare let mine out in the yard, I’d be as scared of the neighbors as a hawk or dog!

Yeah Kral I hear you.   I live in Florida and get the oh I love rabbit meat BS. 

OH correction I took Cotton Boo to meet Claudette not that dumb man.    I feel like telling him oh I love to eat children  do you have any? 

I like claudettes response   shame on you wanting to eat that  poor girls rabbit.  

People can be so ignorant.      Yes we used to eat buns too when I was young and showed them in 4H.   I won’t touch the meat now.  Well I don’t eat meat anyways.

That bothers me. First off I don’t know how anyone can eat something so cute (although cows and chickens are cute to me too so I don’t eat them either). I try not to rag about people eating rabbits because an animal is an animal but still…. But that ad (which I did a search on to try to find with no luck) seems to be exploiting rabbits. What happened to all those baby bunnies after the picture was taken?
