  My rabbit has a runny nose and always has drool below her chin.. I have taken her to the doctor before and they said she had sniffles, and gave me medicine. This was about a year ago, but it won’t clear up.

  If it didn’t clear up-you should go back. Just because the initial treatment doesn’t work, doesn’t mean there is nothing they can do. Often instead of running tests, vets will try one thing then another and another-cheaper for you. I’d go back!

  Drooling can be a sign of teeth problems. Did the vet check her teeth? Sometimes different antibiotics have to be tried until the right one is found, so you should go back to the vet, or to another vet if you don’t think the first one was very rabbit savvy.

  I agree. It is best to rule out something that could be easily fixed with dental work or medication. Like KK said, vets will often prescribe a common antibiotic (like Baytril) because it works a lot of the time and they don’t need to mess around with doing a culture. But it doesn’t always work, so it’s important to try another one or have a culture done or explore other possible causes (e.g. tooth problems, etc.).
