  Hi everyone…. I just got back from a week-long vacation and I noticed that below Jack’s left eye is very wet, leading me to believe his eyes are obviously runny. Why is this???? Should I take him to the vet? Also, sometimes when he’s running around I’ll hear a faint wheezing/squeaking noise. Please answer soon!

  Okay, I just did a little bit of research and noticed it may be a result of the sitter not changing his litter box resulting in a smelly room. Maybe it’s allergies instead since he’s on carpet. I’m going to deep clean his room and if the wetness persists I’ll schedule an appointment with his vet.

  This morning I also noticed he isn’t eating or peeing as much as usual….. He still runs up to greet me when I enter his room though. I’m not sure if he’s drinking less, I’ll have to check up on that. He is eating his salad as usual though. I just got a new brand of Timothy hay, perhaps a couple tiny pieces got into his eye. His activity is normal and both his eyes are clear, despite the wetness below his left.

  Keep a close eye on his food intake – decreased appetite is as you know not to be taken lightly.
  
  You can rinse his eye with saline eyewash for humans. If this is just some hay debris, it will rinse out and the eye go back to normal again.
