We had some friends visiting and there was a lot of food on a table. Somehow a pice of a smoked sausage ended up on the floor and before I could notice Redford found it and helped himself with 3 nice bits.
Should I be worried or try to give him something to chase that soon as posible from his organism? I dont now what…
I’m kinda worried, but he seems fine, he liked himself after I sneched it from jim and now he is flopped on his favorite pillow next to me.

I would just keep an eye on how he acts and his poop/pee to see if it changes. Make sure he keeps eating/drinking normally.

If you give him plenty of hay and water he should be OK, he might have a runny bottom for a few days when it is coming out, but I would contact a vet for advice, there is a lot of fat in sausages, bam might know what to do.

I think he’ll be fine, but you must of course give him a talking-to and remind him that he is a herbivore and not f ex a lion.
My Bam once stole a pork-rind and ate half of it before I was on to him.

Give him hay, water (smoked sausage is salty so he may need to drink extra), monitor him and his appetite and poop. Hay is the best thing for buns that have eaten sth that’s not poisonous or so, just inappropriate.

Thx guys. Of course that was my thought about hay too. He is already a big hay eater so that won’t be a problem.

Lol Bam I already did hart to hart talk to him but far as he is concerned everything is nom nom for him. Sometimes I think if somehow he is to come by unlimited palets or banana or anything really he wouldnt stop eating untill he faint.

Anyway right now while I write this he is in his home base drink a lot of water.

After I posted what I put earlier, I just had to make myself Eggs, Hash browns and Sausages, but I have shown Olly a sausage and he was not interested, he pushed my hand away, of course I had a raisin waiting in my other hand for him and know how to stop him if he did try and eat it.
Redford this is Olly, meat not or us, it for the big people and big animals, go and eat some hay and drink plenty of water.

Nianian if everything is nom nom to him, you better start wearing steal capped boots in your house to protect your toes, he’s eaten meat now, we could have a killer bunny about, only joking, that only happens in movies and story books.

I think oats will help if he has a runny bottom to. I give them to Hopper when I forget the apple I give as a treat is a little sweet (opps…)

Niamian: Chewie is an omnomnomnivore – any chance he gets, he steals eggs, cheese, beef tacos, cabbage rolls, grilled chicken, etc. To date *touch wood* he’s been ok and I attribute it mostly to his love of hay. So I second the hay and water suggestion.

Pinky: Chewie has a disturbing obsession with my toes – if I’m not wearing socks, he’ll lick and then eventually start nibbling on them. After your comment, I now feel a bit creeped out, since I failed to make the connection between his love of meat and his love of my toes.

                        Lol guys.
Just wanted to tell you that Redford is fine, had a lot of hay and water and pooped normally.
We asked vet today and they l said everything is fine.
Pinky and Olly thank you for the still boots idea. I will keep that in mind. And Redford says he will try to take Ollys advice.

Q8bunny that is by far best discretion for Redford… omnomnivore! Lol
