I noticed that my rabbit has been pooping brick red poops that are otherwise normal in size and consistency. He is also acting normal, eating lots of hay and drinking water and running around. Has anybody run into this before? There are very few rabbit specialists in the area, I’m taking him to a vet tomorrow but I was hoping somebody here would know. Thanks!

I haven’t heard of red poop, but my initial thoughts are 1) is there blood present and 2) whether your rabbit has access to red fibers which may be coating the poop.

Have you tried breaking apart the poop to see if they differ in aspects aside from color?
