My 10 month old bunny is getting his incisors extracted in a couple of days. He’s been getting them trimmed every 5-6 weeks or so and gotten stasis from the discomfort of them, that coupled with the price of monthly trimming I decided to have them taken out. I have read and been told that bunnies recover quickly and easily acclimate to not having them. I’m wondering what experience ya’ll have with incisor extractions…did your bunnies recovery easily and quickly? Were there any complications with the procedure itself? I’m wondering how soon he’ll be able to eat on his own again as I know I’ll be syringe feeding him at first. I know it’s the best decision for both him and I but I’m so nervous. Any information or suggestions?? Thanks!

There’s at least one member with experience with this, so I’m sure they’ll chime in in due time. Unfortunately I opt Wick for the incisor trim (bottom two all the way to the gum line) every 5 weeks, so I can’t offer experience. I go for routinely trim because he has to go in every 5 weeks for his spurs regardless.
