Rascals date

So Rascal went on a speed date last night with a couple girl bunnies.  We were lucky enough to have found a match for him.  They are perfect for each other and she actually gave him kisses!  There were no brawls or anything and all is well.  They are in separate pens as they still need to be bonded, but the rescue told me to let them be out in the bonding area for as long as they get along and if they continue to get along there is no need to move them, but if they have an argument or brawl then they need to be separated but after all calms down.  I will be doing a bonding session in the bathroom today, since it’s really the only neutral place.  

The girl bunny is named Valentine and she is a red eyed white bunny (New Zealand).  She is sweet as can be.  Uses the potty more than Rascal so I’ll need to clean hers more frequently.

Oh yes, Rascal definitely tries to be the ladies man. =P

I had them out in the bathroom today for about an hour. (It started to get really hot in there for some reason) and they were getting along to well. Well, if you can call it “getting along” they weren’t really doing much but laying and grooming (not each other, but that would have been awesome). At one point Rascal did get a little feisty. He wanted her to give him kisses so bad he nipped her face…no blood or anything but it startled both of us. He actually started giving HER kisses a few minutes later but she shook her head and didn’t want them. I think she’ll take more time to warm up to him than Rascal will to her. Rascal REEEAALLY wants a friend and you can tell by the way he begs for kisses lol.

Valentine thumped her hind legs a couple times during the process because she didn’t like Rascal intruding in her privacy. He kept wanting to smell her underside and she did not like that. I think he got the message after both me and Valentine told him not to do that. lol I think it’s going pretty well. I’m wondering how soon I can move them to a different area to bond because the bathroom apparently gets too hot. I can move them to the playroom where no rabbits have gone yet. (they are both resting in their own pens right now) I have an extra x-pen I can set up to give them limited space.

What do you think? Should I try the other area or keep doing the bathroom?

I think the playroom would be just fine. It’s good they are not fighting. She sounds like she’ll just have to take time to trust him, but it sounds very good. Actually if they are tolerating each other in a small place, I think that’s pretty positive.

Sounds like your doing really well,I saw the picture of them both in the pet carrier, did they travel home together ?

That’s good, mine are doing really well in a confined space and me walking round with them In the basket so I guess it’s a similar thing

First off, what an adorable couple!! They already look like a perfect couple and sounds like the bonding won’t be too difficult.  

Rascal sounds just like my Leo. That’s totally how I describe Leo! (He also like to sit on the potty reading playbun mags).  When I took Arduina for her dating, she fought with everybun.  Except Leo, he really wanted a partner and was very gentile with her, she tried to attack him, but he didn’t fight back, only begged for kisses (he even didn’t mind getting mounted, just wanted to be groomed).  We always said that it was Leo who chose her, not the other way around .
