Right now one of my rabbits is on his second day of treatment with antibiotics to help get rid of this scary disease. He is going to have 1.5 ml of Bactrim twice a day for 14 Days… At the vet he got x-rayed and that showed anomalies in his lungs and sinuses…

Things that I have done to help him:

Took him straight in to the garage where its a little bit warmer(he is an outdoor rabbit and its getting cold).

Giving Critical Care and Fibreplex to prevent any problems with his gut.

Of course giving him his daily dose of Bactrim!

So now to my question! Is there anything else I can do for him? Someone who got the experience and/or knowledge about this disease that can see if I’m missing something?

I’ve heard something about echinacea helping the immune system?

I just want him to get better…

This is a house rabbit forum so most people here keep our rabbits inside. I think that’s probably your best bet, too, since pneumonia is most dangerous in the cold.

I agree with Zombie-Sue. Get him indoors, aside from the meds, that’s the best thing you can do for him. Leaving a bun with pneumonia out in the cold is very dangerous. Unless it’s heated, even the garage won’t be warm enough.
