Hey guys,
I have an unneuterehd male rabbit who’s around 1 year old now and I’ve been the one to take care of since he was 6-8 weeks. He lives in an outside hutch and we let him out to play in a fairly large backyard for a few hours or so or until he gets tired.
Regarding his personality, he’s really cheeky and smart, and usually very active. He usually spend his time outside digging holes, flopping upside down, running around, playing with me and just chinning everything he possibly can. He usually circles me wants to play and chase me around the backyard and then flops next to my foot when he’s tired and wants to be picked up to go back to his hutch. Long story short, he’s a very loveable rabbit.
However, about 2 months ago he’s developed a new hobby, which includes hopping towards me from whatever he was doing, chin and sniff my leg and proceed to spary pee all over my leg, sometimes he acts really happy and circles me again, other times he seem to realise what he’s done and run to hide under the barbecue or something. I’ve noticed he will 100% pee on my when I wear long pants and only sometimes if I’m wearing just regular pants.
Now I’ve read about unneutered rabbits behaviour changing and whatnot and spraying pee being a common issue, but he literally only does that to me, the rare times that my girlfriend takes him out, he’s really friendly and doesn’t even dig, just wants to play and run around.
I’ve looked around my area and the only place I managed to find was an exotic vet about 50 km away from where I live who charges a very large amount of money, so that’s out of the question :/
Does this mean my rabbit dislikes me or something? And is it possible to make him stop or at least make him spray pee on me less? :/
Thanks for the help
