Hello everyone! I noticed a few strange things about my lionhead today while I was grooming him and was hoping someone could help me out. Nothing personality wise seems out of place, he’s playing, pooping, and eating just fine. Although, I’ve recently noticed he’s been getting eye boogies alot, his nose seems a bit dry & crusty (it looks normal though) and underneath his chin around his mouth is wet/drooly. My first thought was to check his teeth to see if they were overgrown but they were fine and he hasn’t been sneezing or anything like that to indicate to me that he has a cold.  Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would have his back teeth checked by the vet. You might want to consider x-rays too since it could be a tooth root problem (roots getting into the sinuses and/or eye sockets).

Ditto LBJ, small spurs etc are readily visible and need to be checked by a vet.

I just read up on tooth problems in rabbits, it’s not pretty. My poor baby Thanks Roberta and LBJ10 for the help, I’ll have to find a vet in the area now that will take him. I wonder if this is why he doesn’t like to come out of his cage and play very much. He’s always been that way since got him, I figured he was just a lazy bun and didn’t want to be near our other rabbit.

Don’t worry too much yet. There are a number of possibilities, but there is no reason to fear the worst at this point. It could very well be something as simple as a spur on one of his teeth, which the vet can file off.
