Rabbit not eating properly and lathargic! HELP!

Hello, I was hoping I might be able to get some induvidual feed back from anyone who has experience similar symptoms in their rabbits!
Glenn was given rearguard- a fly strike prevention treatment- for the first time 2 days ago. The first day he came back from the vet he seemed okay for an hour or so, after this he was laying down, looked in discomfort and very lathargic, he got up to say hi and laid straight back down again :/ refusing all treats and food for the first evening and felt real cold, he NEVER refuses treats. I saw this as a concern and took him to the emergency vets that night, after running some tests which came out fine they sent him home after giving pain killers and an eating stimulant and said to moniter his poop and eating. The next morning he had still not eaten a single pellet or much food at all, he’s been very lathargic still and not moving much or playing lots as usual, he seems very reserved and a little nervous as well, he is eating a little bit of hay and greens, he seems to be eating just the ‘soft food’ and being very selective in his eating, he has now accepted the offer of a biscuit treat which seems like a good sign but has gone the whole day eating no pellets :/ he just does not seem himself, I rang the vets again today and they said as he’s eating hay and still passing stool he’s fine but I feel like the vets aren’t really taking it seriously has anyone had a similar experience or know what could be bothering Glenn? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Loss of appetite is a side effect of rearguard. Iv read of other rabbits experiencing the same thing. Personally, I have not used it, but have used beaphar and one of my buns got diahrea from it. I think u might have to syringe feed your bunny to get thru this. U don’t want to wait too long. Do u have critical care? Bunny needs to eat and drink. Dehydration and hunger both cause lethargy.

Ahh okay thank you, I was unaware of this, the vet visit wasn’t done properly it was very rushed and I never got told of any aftercare or side effects I’m managing to get him to eat some ‘herbal forage’ I got from the pet store but it is intended as a treat not a staple diet and he’s eating some greens now to so lucky his digestive system is till working, I don’t know if maybe a syringe feed is still needed to get him to eat pellets and hay though or if the forage and greens willl do until his appitite is back to normal? Maybe I should consult my vet about that? I don’t have a critical care kit but I do have some fibreplex and could possibly clean it out and use that syringe if nessecary. Thank for the advice! You r welcome. As long as u can keep him eating and drinking, use whatever means works. Is he drinking enough water? If not, try flavoring it with a tbsp apple juice or white grape juice. I use 1tbsp per cup, to get my bunny back to drinking.

Okay, he does only seem to eat when I put it under his nose it’s a bit like he’s forgotten to eat, bull I’ll keep trying to hand feed him. As for drinking, that is a brilliant tip! Definitely going to try that one thanks again
