Hi.. i hope i am posting this in the right place.. really not sure what im doing haha
i left my two unbonded rabbits with my boyfriend for a month when i was away. he knows how to take care of them but his house isn’t as well set up and when he had them both out for free range time, one jumped over the couch and landed in the same area as the other :/
he knew that they got in a fight as there was blood on the floor but sam (bunny) cleaned himself up and seemed okay. the next morning he checked on sam, he didnt have a close look as the bun wouldn’t let him touch his ear but my boyfriend said it didn’t seem like he needed to go to the vet.
well ive been back for a few days now and i only just had a close look at sams ear (you really can’t tell it’s anything serious unless you have a proper look) and there is actually a HOLE all the way through!! the outside has scabbed over but when you look inside his ear you can see it has completely punctured it. it is healing with a hole in the middle.
do people think he’s okay? this was done over a month ago and sam doens’t seem bothered any more but it would have really hurt him when it happened
my little bun is still binkying and flopping but could this cause any long term problems? my vet is a $150 consultation fee so i don’t want to take him if i don’t need to.
thanks
