So I’ve had Maui since Jan. She was 2 months when I got her. When I first brought her home she treated my house like a jungle gym. She would get up on the couch and cuddle. Now she won’t even come out from behind the couch. She spends her day in the cage and then she’s out from the moment I get home till I go to sleep. It’s been like this for almost a month. I worry she isn’t getting any exercise. She is moulting really bad but not sure that even matters. I miss her help!!!

Any behavior change like this could be a sign of illness, so the first step is to have her checked out by a vet. Rabbits hide pain very well, so she could be injured or sick.

Is she eating and pooping OK?

Eating and pooping a lot. I can really only get her to come out with food.

If she’s molting she might get anti social for a bit. Whenever Asriel has a serious molt he usually just hangs out in his cage and doesn’t really come out and gets rather finicky.

Okay. I was kinda wondering. She has the thickest hair I’ve ever seen on a rabbit and she’s just a baby so it’s really bad. She gets so upset when I try to brush her so maybe she’s just frustrated with me and the molt. Everytime I look behind the couch she’s chilling back there with her feet kicked out

I have been having a similar problem with my Juniper. She will get very energetic in the morning at 6 am. She spins in circles for her breakfast. She binkies. But then she will hide from me the whole rest of the day. She just started doing this and she is also in the middle of a molt. She poops, she drinks, she sneaks out of her hiding spot and eats hay. It’s just concerning me that she’s not as enthusiastic about her dinner!

As long as she’s not hunched or grinding her teeth I think you’re fine and you just need to let her do her thing
