This has been happening for about a month now, but my rabbit may have a head tilt?? I’m not absolutely positive. Most of the time she’s perfectly fine, but every once in a while her head will tilt. I’ve tried to do research on this, but all the internet talks about is constant head tilts and it’s impossible to get any information. If anyone even has the smallest amount of knowledge please say something, I’m starting to get worried.

At what times do you notice her tilting her head? Is she sitting in a bun-loaf position? Some perfectly healthy rabbits can start to turn the head a little when they are napping.

Rabbits recovering from head-tilt also seem to relapse a little when they are tired also.

It certainly wouldn’t hurt to get her checked out by your vet, since this is a new habit. Ear infection is a common cause for head-tilt.

If the ear is painful, you can sometimes witness something that looks similar to head tilt. It isn’t true head tilt, where the bunny has no control over it. Instead, it is a way to help ease the discomfort and often occurs when the bunny is resting.

The cause could be a number of things, including an ear infection and ear mites.
