  I have 2 mini rexes, and I have to go with my family on a 4 day trip. I can’t leave them with anyone we know, (they all work long hours, and those that don’t aren’t willing to watch them.) So I can either take them with(in a car) or leave them at home. We also can’t hire someone since we don’t trust anyone to do it(previous bad exspirences). I don’t know what to do. I know I would worry if I left them home, but the trip would be made during the hot months (sometime in June), and I know rabbits are prone to heat stroke. What can I do? Any care suggestions in either situation?
  
  Futher info, it’ll be 2 days of travel, to my aunts house, and 2 days there. I don’t know how willing she’d be to have the bunnies in her house, so lets assume they will be in the car at all times if they go with.
  
  They are house rabbits, so they would be in the house while we’re are away if they stay home. I’m kind of at a loss, so any suggestions are welcome.

  To be honest, I think you’ll have to hire someone. What was the bad experience?
  Find a pet sitter and ask for references!
  
  I don’t really see how you can have them living in a car for 4 days, and you can’t leave them alone for 4 days either.

  I agree with Tessie, leaving them in the car for 4 days is not really an option in my mind. I also think you will have to find someone to at the very least look in on them once a day. Sometimes vets or rabbit rescues offer boarding services but I would only consider that if you are familiar with the rescue or it’s your regular trusted vet.

  I really would hate to leave them with someone, and then thier routine be messed up and thier health suffer for it. I mean I love our animals. I don’t know if I could sleep at night wondering if they were being treated well. I know it might sound silly, but no one treats other peoples animals like thier own.

  Having someone watch them at your house/check in on them will be the least disruptive and stressful. Having someone else watch them at their home or boarding them is probably the second best option. Taking them with you or leaving them alone for four days are the more dangerous, stressful and disruptive courses of actions. I don’t think the last two are options really. :/
