Does anyone know where to get rabbit agility equipment. I am looking to train my bunnies. Also do they need to be harnessed when doing jumps or not?

I only have seen postings on social media around competitive rabbit agility. From what I’ve seen, they are always harnessed. If you are looking to enter a specific competition or association that holds these events, contacting them may be the best bet in finding what I assume to be standardized rabbit agility equipment?

As a general note, some rabbits are not agreeable to harnesses, and some environments may not be either. Rabbits who may suddenly jolt due to something they sense, their energy level, and/or something in their environment have a risk of being injured when held on a harness/leash, so if you go to try and acclimate your rabbits to harnesses and it seems like their nature due not suit it safely, I would not force it.

One of my rabbits doesn’t like harnesses but my other rabbit does and both are fine with new places. I was hoping to train my rabbit Ollie ( the one that is okay with it ) because I think he will enjoy it. I was hoping to train him before contacting but I don’t know where to get the agility equipment from.

I think the first step is probably to start clicker training your bun. 🙂 Training the bun to “target” is the first step to lots of agility stuff.  I would start with that before moving on to harnesses.

From the rabbit agility stuff I’ve seen, people seem to make it themselves or use things for small dogs?

They sell some items on Amazon. I’ve see rabbit-sized jumps, seesaws, etc.

I got my first rabbit when I joined a 4H Thumpers (rabbit) club in my state. They had mini jumps for rabbits and even had rabbit jumping competitions during county fairs. If you live in the US maybe you could try contacting a branch to see if they know where to get some.

The main thing you need to pay attention to when you are buying a jump is the horizontal piece and the peg or holder keeping it in place. The horizontal piece can always be replaced with something lighter if it’s heavy (wood stick/fiberglass rod/etc.). Also make sure to buy a jump where the horizontal piece falls down if the bunny’s foot hits it while jumping. That way he/she won’t get injured. Some jumps aren’t made for that purpose and have slots which prevent the horizontal piece from falling which can possibly cause injuries.
