Is there an online shop like Amazon there?  As far as I can tell there’s no Amazon Australia.  We’re wanting to get some kind of online gift card for Scooter’s brother and his family, and while the adults are probably fine with Amazon ones we’re a little more concerned with some kind of site with something for the kiddies.  I thought about Costco but the one in Sydney isn’t open yet and it doesn’t look like you can order gift cards online from them there anyway.

While we’re at it, any site that’s great for baby gifts?  We should have sent something already for SIL’s baby but have been having a hard time finding a site to order from.

This is a tough one. We have heaps of online stores, though they are much smaller than amazon…. I can never find any good stores online that actually post to Australia… I usually use eBay. What about jb hifi or toys r us or babies r us vouchers? Would they like those sorts of things?

One site I just learned of is Red Balloon. Mainly it’s to give an experience but you can buy gift vouchers or made up gift baskets. http://www.redballon.com.au

If you’re looking at books/music stores try these:  They also have some giftware.

            Borders http://www.borders.com.au

            Dymocks http://www.dymocks.com.au

            Angus & Robertson http://www.angusrobertson.com.au

Or try some of the major stores as Kafrn mentioned. Myers, David Jones, Toys R Us etc

You can look for Australian sellers on Etsy and there is also Made It for handmade gifts http://www.madeit.com.au

Only Online http://www.oo.com.au   and   Shopping.com http://au.shopping.com/  might be useful to you also.

Thank you, both of you! We did a Red Balloon certificate for the adults and found a site that had reasonably priced gifts for the kids (giftsaustralia or something like that). And we’re definitely keeping the other suggestions in mind for coming years, as I’m pretty sure they’re not planning on moving any time soon.
