This may seem like a silly question but since its shedding season I figured I’d get the answer.
How do I know if I am grooming my rabbit the correct amount? I don’t want to over groom my babies or under groom them. I have two adult male lion heads and this is my first summer with them. I have had a lionhead before but never with such thick fur. These boys have some THICK fur. I have the fur buster which I use after I go through with a comb to break up the knots. I know I should be getting a LOT of fur with my brushings because they will be molting however I’m not sure how much fur is a good amount or if I’m pulling out fur. I try to brush as gently as I can so I don’t think I am pulling out any fur but I’m not sure.
The fur just keeps coming out and my one little boy gets so stressed by the grooming he starts whimpering so I don’t want to keep him any longer than I have to.
So, I guess my question is:
Do I just brush until the fur stops coming out? Or should I just get the bulk of it and then leave it be? So far Ive just been getting the main bulk of it but when the fur stops being clumps I slow down my brushing. I’ve also been grooming every other day because it stresses them out so so much.
