Hey Everyone!!!
Just wanted to put out a big thank-you to everyone and their advice that’s helped me with Jude and I’s first few weeks together! We’ve made awesome breakthroughs in regards to litter training and getting friendlier and less skittish! She has turned into the sweetest little thing lol! So I put the kitty litter plastic bin in with her and right away, she started using it! THAT was easier than I thought it would be hahaha! Right now, I am only using some hay at the bottom of it and she seems happy enough with using that- I clean it out every morning as well. What does everyone else use? I also need to get a grate to place in the pan so she isn’t standing on her poop! I still haven’t had any success with getting her to eat any alfalfa hay… I even bought her some that was squished into pellet form, but she’s not interested
Funny story, I found her outside in her run yesterday laying in a little sunbeam with a tiny baby sparrow sitting on her! Cutest thing ever! Wished I had a camera at that very moment! She still freaks out when she sees my dog, but I really can’t blame her as the dog wants to be her best buddy but is waaaaaay too excited about it lol! Sometimes she’ll come up and sniff noses though
I like to sit in her outdoor run with her and she’ll come over and nudge my legs and lick my shoes (for whatever strange reason. I put a stop to that since I’m not sure what it is she’s licking lol) The breeder phoned me last night to make sure she was doing well and I thought that was nice to know he was interested in her care! I’ve decided to wait until she is at least 8 months to have her spayed. Although I think it might be twice as expensive since she’ll be twice the size by then! lol! But that’s alright! I put down some wood on the bottom of her run (on top of the wire) so that her feet wouldn’t get too sore. I left a little patch open though so she could munch on the grass and chickweed. She’ll take food from my hand now too! She doesn’t like to be picked up, even if I pick her up properly with lots of support, and that’s fine with me because she seems to enjoy just sitting beside me and being pet. If I was that small, I wouldn’t want to be picked up often either! I’m hoping to schedule a little visit for our first health check with the vet next week, but we’ll see how that goes! Anyways, I’m super happy with my bunny- she’s a sweet little lady!
