I recently contacted Georgie’s breeder to find out her exact birthday, and when I worked out the dates, I learned shes a couple weeks younger than I was originally told. So the 12 week old rabbit I thought I had is actually 10 weeks. Ugh. We just started introducing veggies, just with romaine, and she’s had no problem with it. Would it be better to stop feeding veggies till shes a bit older, or keep feeding them since she hasn’t had any problems.

Here’s a picture of her cause shes just too stinkin cute.

Is she having a lot of cecal production that she doesn’t eat?
Typically 12 weeks is the earliest you want to feed veggies, just to help the gut flora develop properly. If she’s producing a lot of cecals that she doesn’t eat, I would stop because her diet is too rich.

Nope, completely normal poops. I’ve been closely watching her poops since we started feeding her veggies. The first day they were darker than normal, but other than that they’ve been the same.

I deleted the duplicates for you

If she is tolerating the greens you have introduced fine then it is not an issue. It’s recommended to hold off with greens with young rabbits because often you don’t know what they are used to. If a breeder feeds their mums with leafy greens then the kits would have started to eat them when they started to wean and it makes them more tolerant of greens at a younger age My boy Bandit couldn’t really tolerate greens until about 4 months of age.

Don’t fix what isn’t broken If she’s fine, just keep doing what you’re doing, just don’t rush it

Thank you! We will keep up the romaine and keep a close eye on her and wait till shes a bit older till we introduce any more veggies. When we picked her up the mom had veggies so she may have had them with her mama.
