Peaches and Peppermint went for their annual exam yesterday and the vet says they look good!  She also said they were very cute because the cuddled, they ate together, they groomed together, they did everything together – kind of like little bookends.  I told her that is because they are terrified of everything…but they are a cute little couple.

Seems like Peaches has lost a little weight to me too…

We did some bloodwork too since they are around 7 or 8 years old…I will be very interested to see if they have the low liver enzymes like my other rabbits – the vet always comments on this and she says it’s not a problem but she just notices it’s with all my rabbits.  I asked if it could be the lab and she said that she didn’t think so because other rabbit’s bloodwork doesn’t come back with low liver enzymes…I guess my rabbits are just weird.

Next to take is grumpy Toffee in June for her annual.  And all the buns will have had their annual vet exam…woohoo.

I speculate that they are mother and son because when I got them (they were strays someone caught), Peppermint (the male) was pretty young and Peaches (the female) was old enough to have had babies. They had been running around the neighborhood together – it’s pure speculation on my part, but it seems like it’s a possibility to me so I just say they are mother and son.

Yeah, that makes it easy! LOL! Most of our buns are pure speculation, that’s what makes it interesting!

Liver enzymes.    Interesting.    Could it be the litter or some air freshener or something?

You been here a while I doubt you have pine n cedar litter

I like them they look cute.    Glad they ok    A bill of good health.

I wonder why a bill of good health is a saying.   Could it be cuz when we go for checkups and dr says we are good and we get billed.   = bill of good health   lol

                the good health bill.

Ok I am rambling here.  lol.     Your buns are middle aged now?   8 years is that senior or middle age.

It’s actually low liver enzymes not high liver enzymes which would be cause for concern (the high ones that is).

If the bloodwork comes back good then we will have a clean bill of health :~)

Michelle, I had 4 but now I have 6 – I took two in from a friend when her husband was sick and I guess they may stay awhile. I’ll definitely keep Bobby who was dumped at her door and her Bogie is 8 or 9 so I don’t mind keeping him as well. I think he’s better off with me in a nice quiet household (except for a very noisy cockatiel).

                                        Bahahah schnapps!!!

Oh my gosh-I’d love to see more pictures they are too sweet!!!
Correct me if I’m wrong but low liver enzymes-that’s good right? High *can* come from being kept on pine or cedar as far as I’ve heard so I think low would mean they are exposed to bad things the liver needs to extract even less then normal! Maybe I’m wrong but sounds like a good thing Not that I’m suprised your buns are so well kept! More pictures please!

Well Peppermint appears to have an infection based on his white blood cell count so…so we’ll be doing some baytril for him and then retest.

Both had those weird low liver enzymes which is perfectly fine but it’s weird.

I’m taking Toffee in tomorrow because I think she has an UTI as well and will have them do the works for her as well and we’ll just treat both Toffee and Peppermint.
