Hi everyone, I’ve moved Charlie into my room and she’s so so excited – runs around like a maniac, binkying – I can just tell she’s so much happier.
As expected, there are some potty training regressions going on. I put her litterbox on the floor and she knows where it is because she’s eating the hay out of it, but she WILL NOT use it. I woke up at 3am to poops ALL OVER the room. Thankfully their poops don’t make too big a mess. I cleaned it up and put it in her litterbox thinking it would encourage her to use it but no luck. She peed on my bed three times throughout the night.
I think I may be to blame for this – in the past I bring her into my bed every night with a litterbox on the bed. She used to not be able to jump down because the bed was so high but now its low enough that she can get up and down. I think she’s so used to it being on the bed that she doesn’t know what to do with herself. When I got up at 3 I put a litterbox on my bed and she jumped right in and peed, and pooped in there through the rest of the night.
How can I get her used to using the litterbox on the floor? I can put one on my bed but want her to get used to using that one so there doesn’t need to be one on the bed as well. I’m really liking having her in the room with me aside from the potty issues.
Thank you!
