So I have some rabbits that are potty trained during the day, but then I’ll get up in the morning, and there will be poops everywhere around their litterboxes.

Could anyone explain me why this might be?

Depends. Are they free-roam during the day? Some bunnies are very good about not pooping in areas outside of their home base, but they will see their entire home base as fair game. So when they are confined to their home base (like at night), you may notice a lot more poop on the floor around the litter box.

Yes, they are always free roam.

              Have they all bonded?

I ask because I’m bonding a doe with my buck right now and I’m having the same issue.  At this point they are both free roaming all day/night with light snuggling and overall contentment with each other.  I believe they are still determining who will be the dominant rabbit of the pair, therefore I’m assuming this is just territorial marking and that’s why I’m finding it so scattered and near the main rabbit zone.  Thankfully they are both fixed so no marking with urine.  I’m hoping this clears up once they establish roles in the relationship, but I’d love to hear what others have experienced while bonding.

              Great topic <3
