Bonnie got her spay on Wednesday. She came into the clinic at 10am, and was picked up at 3pm. That day I just made sure she was comfy by giving her a bowl or water, fresh veggies all in easy reach. I also changed out her litter so I could monitor her poops. All she did was lay on her side, or loaf. I figured I would let her rest instead of forcing food onto her. This morning there was no poop, but little pee, and she did not mess with the pile or hay or veggies I left for her, so I made a pellet mash for her and it was impossible. Normally I can bunny-rito her and feed her, but she wouldn’t eat, so I took her back to the clinic. The vet said she was having a slow recovery from the anesthesia. They gave her fluids and painkillers, and I brought her back home. After 4 hours, she pooped! It was mushy looking poop, I saw some cecals and the rest looks like mush. I tried to feed her and she ate one piece of cilantro. I checked on her again and tried to feed her, and she only ate one piece of wet cilantro again.
Should I be worried? I got really happy with the mushy poo, so maybe she’s just slower on recovery?
