I was wondering if any of you have scheduled post neuter check ups? I’m getting my rabbit neutered at a low cost spay/neuter clinic, not his normal vet, about 2 hours away from me and I have vets specialized in rabbit medicine near me. I was just wondering if it’s customary to do a post-op appointment or if it’s overkill. I’m just so nervous about this procedure (and it’s not even until the 29th!) and want to make sure I have everything set to go.

Post op is normal and highly recommended. Typically one week or slightly less after the neuter for my vet.

My vets office does post op check ups two weeks after surgeries (or sooner, depending) and its covered in the initial cost of the surgery.

I didn’t do post-op check ups with my two male rabbits. It’s not included in the price here. Both boys healed just fine, if I’d seen anything to indicate that there was a problem I’d have contacted the vets of course.

My vets do a 3 and 10 day post-op check, included in the price. To be honest, all they ever did was look briefly and say it all looked fine, but it’s probably worth it for your peace of mind.

I had a post op check up 3 days after my boy’s neuter and 5 days after my does’ spay. Totally normal

Okay, thank you so much! I’ll go ahead and schedule it then
