Last night around 10 I noticed Bunzi was acting off, so I offered her a piece of apple and she didn’t even acknowledge it. Her stomach was quite loud, and she’s had gas before so I started giving her 1 ml simethicone every hour and massaging her stomach. In the past this has worked within two hours, but I saw no improvement. At this point the vet was closed, so I stayed up all night giving her simethicone, water from a dropper, and offering her various foods which she refused.
I called the vet right when it opened this morning and explained what happened, but the earliest appointment I could get was 3pm. She still hasn’t eaten, pooped or peed since last night, and is more lethargic than usual. But she does get up and move around every once in a while. She’s sitting in her normal sleeping position, but clearly not sleeping. She hasn’t been grinding her teeth but her stomach feels rigid (but not distended). The noises from her stomach have stopped, so I’m worried the gas pain has turned into GI stasis.
Until I can get her to the vet, should I continue giving her simethicone and water? Should I try force feeding her or wait to rule out a blockage? Should I let her rest, or try to keep her moving?
