  I woke up this morning and noticed my bunny had only eaten part of her dinner last night. I took her out of her cage to try and get her to eat the rest but she didn’t and instead she just went under my bed and laid down (not typical behavior). My first thought is blockage so I tried to feel her stomach to see if there were any lumps or unusual hardness but it seemed normal. I also massaged her stomach to see if that might help. She has been hopping around a bit and when she lays down she lays in a very relaxed position. She still hasn’t eaten anything, not even a treat. Should I wait to see if she poops or gets worse? If it is a blockage is there anything I can give her before I take her to the vet?

  You can try baby gas drops (simethicone), if it’s gas it can help. Other than that, try to entice her to eat something. Empty her litter-tray so you can see exactly how much she poops. If she refuses to eat and/or stops pooping altogether you’ll need to see a vet within 12-24 hours. I personally would wait no more than 8-12 hours but it depends on her general demeanour etc. A gentle tummy massage can sometimes get things going, so that’s good you’ve given that. You want her to drink, if she doesn’t drink on her own, you can syringe her some water, but do it slowly and see to it so she swallows the water. You don’t want her breathing it into her lungs.
  
  Motility meds should not be given if it’s a blockage. A vet would have to x-ray her to see if there is a blockage or if this is just a gut-slowdown. If she poops, this is more likely a slow-down, but that to requires vet care if she doesn’t start eating.

  I can’t add anything to Bam’s great advice but want to wish your bunny a (((Speedy Recovery))))).
  
  It may not be a blockage. I think general GI upset is more common than an actual blockage. Like Bam, mentioned an Xray needs to be done to determine what the trouble is.

  Thank you both! Good news, she pooped and she ate some of the critical care food I made for her! I will just keep an eye on her and see how everything goes. Thank you again for your advice!
